When I recently read some interesting facts about Judy Wilkenfeld on Facebook, I noticed that she mentioned eating a Tim Tam. To which I dared ask, "What's a Tim Tam?"
To which Judy GENEROUSLY answered back by sending me six packages of a most lovely snack item manufactured in Australia ... basically two chocolate biscuits with a fluffy chocolate filling all dipped into a layer of chocolate.
Upon further research, I learned that Australians use Tim Tams to do what is known as the "Tim Tam Slam." And I'm proud to report that I did my first Tim Tam Slam this morning! Step 1: Get a Tim Tam and a hot cup of coffee (or other hot beverage of choice).
Step 2: Take a bite from one end of the Tim Tam.
Step 3: Take a bite from the other end of the Tim Tam.
Step 4: Dip one end of the bitten Tim Tam into the hot coffee. (You actually need to use both hands for this step but because I was taking the photo, I couldn't do that.)
Step 5: Place your mouth on the other end of the bitten Tim Tam and pretend that the Tim Tam is a straw and start sucking the coffee through the Tim Tam.
Step 6: As soon as the coffee starts entering your mouth, take the Tim Tam and put it in your mouth and enjoy the gooey, steamy, chocolatey experience. (It's important not to suck on the Tim Tam for too long because it will disintegrate before you have a chance to put it in your mouth.)
Whether The Accidental Crafter will do the Tim Tam Slam or just eat them straight out of the package ... I'm not sure. Either way, we are grateful to Judy Wilkenfeld for sharing her Tim Tams with the Stampington crew. :)
Wow! Surely there is some local product I could "slam" with. I may have to do some research!

Thanks to all the muses who work so hard to put out all your publications! I am honored to be the exemplar in such a wondrous magazine as Somerset Studio this month.
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
I am completely in awe of the beauty you all scatter each day.

Jenny, this post made me chuckle, seeing Tim Tams on a US blog! When I came to the US last year I brought over Tim Tams for all my hostesses. Everybody loved them. The irony is, I can buy them whenever I want but I don't eat them! They're 2 weight watchers points EACH! So, I avoid the temptation.
Did you know, last year, around October or November, that a company in the US released special edition Tim Tams? I noticed it while I was there. I think they were available at Target. Too good to be true? Yes... they don't taste as good, unfortunately for you. But if they're "slammed" maybe they're ok.
Cheers,
Natasha

I love Tim Tams. I was married to an Aussie and his sister would send us packages from Australia with food and treats. Seeing that picture brought back memories. I have to see if I can get some sent over from my friends in OZ.
