I LOVE this photo. It was Monica's first day at kindergarten. A day I'll never forget as we got her all ready in her brand new uniform, and little Andrew helped me drop her off in our trusty Honda Accord. (A car we no longer have but we all remember fondly as we created some mighty wonderful memories trekking around town in that trusty little, sticker-infested coupe.)
At the end of each day, when Andrew and I went to pick her up, it was a grand affair. We walked onto campus hand-in-hand as we made eye contact from afar with our Monica who would come running to us, her biggest fans ready to scoop her up, and get loaded back in the Honda all safe and sound ... as we made our way back home. Sometimes we'd make a stop for an ice cream cone or other treat, as I listened to their sweet chatter from the back seat. I think of these days gone by and wonder whether I knew then what I know now, which is that life doesn't get much better than simple pleasures in a trusty Honda.
We have two trusty Hondas in our garage and many many miles of memories. Hooray for everyday excursions like school drop-off and for big adventures like drives through our National Parks.

My heart just melted when I saw this picture;0) I still remember my oldest daughter's first day of kindergarden and that was now 30 years ago!! There are just some parts of our kids lives we always hold close to our hearts.

We also have a trusty Honda, know as The Honda! as my daughter will shriek when we take the car out instead of our other Honda, an Odyssey van. The Honda! is a 14-year-old Civic that is like part of the family. It is still going strong and I love that my daughter loves that car as much as we do. Yes, simple times in a trusty Honda can't be beat. Hmmmm, I think we gotta an ad campaign here!

Oh my ... tears fill my eyes and my heart is melting. I love what you've written here and I adore the photo of your babies. For me/us ... it's a honda van. And today is the last day of school and this momma is a little emotional that the kids are growing so quickly - after it took me so long to get them in the first place. {I am nearly 43 with one in first grade and one who is now 3 ... our first took a long time coming but finally i got pregnant. Our second is adopted with love from South Korea.} Family is a blessing!

I want to sweep them up and shower them with kisses. The little darlings, not the Honda!
