I've been thinking a lot about journals, art journals, and altered books lately ... blown away as I admire all that's out there.
It has inspired me to start an altered book project.
This is my first spread. Maybe I'll add more to it later but for now, I love it. Its simplicity. Its minimalism.
Here's a process photo that shows how I started ... with gesso mixed with one of my favorite shades of acrylic paints: STONE by Eco Crafts.
I love the simplicity here, Jenny. Whenever I've done an altered book project, I am just wired to make it busy. Now I'm inspired to do another one, sweet and simple. Thank you for sharing!

I don't know how you find the time with all you do, but this is great!

I love the less is more and I love that you chose gray. Funny, right now I'm writing a poem about gray matter. I come here and see your journal is gray. I love the reflection of thoughts and the journey this journal will take you; beautiful~

I love that you're journaling/altering books :)
I started journaling pretty regularly while I was writing up the proposal for Mixed & Stitched, and it has become one of my favorite parts of the day. I can curl up with Larry and the kids in the den, and draw and paint to my hearts content.
I really love the simplicity and restricted color palette you used!
