Check out my latest rock.
I shuttle tatted a small pink flower with three picots ...
and then added a scalloped strip of text page followed by dots and dashes of white gesso applied with the point of a pencil. The same concept was applied to shuttle tat the tiny little pink butterfly at the bottom right corner. So fun.
I love when tiny can make such a grand statement.
Happy tatting. :)
I love your rockin' with the tatting and the scalloped paper. you are such an inspiration!

wow your vision astounds me. Who would have thought the rock could be so cool and whimsical and cool. thanks for sharing. My father died 4 years ago and having a Jewish husband I love the idea of leaving a rock at the grave- it is also a cool little thing that tells my mom that I have been there. My 2 kids and I go sometimes on our way home from mom's house and I want to decorate some rocks somewhat like you have to leave. Thanks for the inspirition

Nice! I just ran into this post today Jenny! I've always loved your crocheted rocks but didn't see the tatted one until just now! I recently took a tatting class & learned the basics. I made some tatted flowers with hemp (not the easiest to tat with lol) and photographed them on a rock, maybe you saw that post? Anyway, maybe I will try something like this to actually decorate my rock, because I still can't crochet flowers...yet. :-) happy weekend!
