Stitched Blooms Blog Tour + Giveaway!

Hello, hello, hello!
I'm very happy to be included in this Blog Tour to let you know about a really fantastic book titled Stitched Blooms, authored by the talented Carina Envoldsen-Harris. The book features 20 fresh and fun sewing projects, each with one of Carina's colorful embroidery designs. The book also contains more than 300 floral motifs that you can use to embroider designs onto practically anything ... a hankie, a napkin, a dress, a tote ... really anything that you want to embellish and elevate with a touch of embroidery.

Oh, these flowers and botanicals look much easier to stitch than my 4-H project of yore. I chose a giant iris with satin stitch forever. No one tried to talk me out of it. Why, I'll never know. I've only recently become interested in trying embroidery again, which shows how important the right first project is in creating lasting interest in the skill! Would love to have my second chance with these motifs. Thank you for the give-away!

When I was in grade school in the 50's, the mother of one of my best friends taught the two of us to cross-stitch on gingham aprons she had made for us. She was so very kind and patient, and I was so thrilled to have a completed project that I could actually use, that this is one of the fondest memories of my childhood. I still have that apron and have let my daughter and my granddaughters use it when we made our first batches of Christmas cookies. More happy memories made because one lovely woman taught two little girls how to cross stitch.

My Grandma always was stitching on something, did towels, pillowcases anything. But when My husband was having heart surgery and I took some stitching to pass the time and take my mind off of the surgery. My mom taught me stitching!! I would love to win the book

This is an awesome giveaway! I hope I win! One of my favorite memories is stitching designs on an apron recently. I traced my children's hands on my apron and stitched them. They love it and I feel like I can touch their spirit when I place my hand on the stitching!

Oh how I love stitchery and this book looks like a gorgeous source of inspiration! One of my earliest and fondest stitching memory happened when I was around 8 or 9 years old. I went on a holiday to stay with my Aunty Ruth. She patiently taught me how to do tapestry and gave me a kit to create a pincushion. When I returned home I would sit and walk around stitching until I finished it, getting any help I needed from my Mum. Mum sewed it into the pincushion for me and I'm still using that same pincushion 35 years later! Tapestry was the stepping stone to many other stitching adventures and I'm so very grateful I had wonderful women in my life that encourage my pursuit of all things creative at such a young age!

I used to watch my grandma sew and hand stitch clothes for me when I was a kid. She taught me how when I grew up. I didn't have her patience and still don't have her skill, but they are some of my best childhood memories. Every time I sew I think of her.

I remember in 1972 - we had a trip postponed by Hurricane Agnes, I was maybe 8 years old, we went to the yarn/weaving store and picked out a bunch of colorful DMC Floss. Then I stitched a beautiful Holly Hobby girl with a patchwork/stitch dress.
