The white rose is from a beautiful centerpiece at an alumni dinner I attended for my alma mater, UC Irvine. Painting the entire centerpiece felt daunting but taking one flower and putting it into a small clay vase created by my friend, Misty Mawn seemed the right thing to do. I used the red berries from my last painting that I got from Trader Joe's and a lemon from my garden. I'm excited about the dark slate blue sky that I have figured how to mix with oils. Like it's a HUGE thing for me.
