I did a photo shoot of myself and my guitar using a timer app this morning to create references to paint (the one I used for this painting is below). I've also been working hard to tell myself that I'm not painting things (like guitar hands, legs, bed, wall) ... just the colors that get created through light. It's hard to retain that mentality so as I was painting this, I found myself saying out loud as my dogs listened in, "Jenny, paint the shapes and the light, paint the shapes and the light."
