I recently made a small oil painting of flowers in a vase. I referenced that painting to make this work, this time in acrylics, and much larger, and with touches of oil pastels. Also, I tried very hard to mix my representational mindset with a decisively abstract one to paint this work, all the while trusting the values. I think representational abstract is different from intuitive abstract.
