Onto cotton fabric, I free motion stitched parts of the portrait and then painted watercolors onto the cotton. I stitched a cotton backing and added a small amount of stuffing to make it into a flat, puffy pillow-y doll. I free motion stitched through all the layers, to make certain parts of the pillow doll have dimension.

The more I looked at the rabbit, the more I thought of this passage from one of my favorite writers, Lydia Davis: "Now that I have been here for a little while I can say with confidence that I have never been here before."]
